Crawlability: Can Search Engines Find Your Pages?
Before anything else, Googlebot needs to discover a URL and be able to fetch it without wasting effort. We review robots.txt rules, XML sitemap accuracy, internal-link discovery paths, crawl depth, and crawl budget โ and hunt specifically for crawl traps: infinite spaces created by faceted navigation, endless URL parameters, or calendar-style pagination that can quietly consume a crawler’s attention while your important pages sit undiscovered. HTTP status codes matter here too: we audit for redirect chains, redirect loops, and unnecessary 4xx/5xx responses that waste crawl budget on dead ends.
